The Bioethics Center of the Universidad de los Andes is projected as an academic body of excellence for the interdisciplinary study of moral problems directly or indirectly linked to the life, health, disease and dignity of the human person.

Philosophy is understood as the foundational and articulating discipline of interdisciplinary bioethical work, and a complement to natural reason is recognized in the Christian faith and in the Magisterium of the Catholic Church. This dual foundation gives our Center a distinctive feature, and is consistent with the ideology and academic seal of the Universidad de los Andes.
