Courses

The GET-UANDES group participates in the preparation of undergraduate and graduate students of the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences of the Universidad de los Andes. In summary, it offers:

  • Courses in Technological Concentration for undergraduate students of CivilEngineering, as well as undergraduate and elective courses.
  • A Master in Engineering Sciences (see more in Spanish)
  • A Doctorate in Engineering Sciences (see more in Spanish)

Seminars

In addition to the courses, seminars are offered to share research and discusstransportation contingency, offered to Civil Engineering students. The mostoutstanding talks were:

  • Accessibility challenges in public transport (see more in Spanish).
  • New applications: challenges of the Uber law (see more in Spanish)
  • Cicle-lanes: challenges for a good road living (see more in Spanish).
  • Environmental traffic management: how transportation engineering canimprove the urban environment (see more in Spanish).
  • New Line 3 of the Santiago Metro: pedestrian modeling challenges (see more in Spanish).

CuShort courses y workshop

In addition, short courses and specialization workshops on different topics areoffered to the UANDES community and professionals from the public and privatesectors.

The most relevant shortest courses and workshops were:

  • Passenger Management on Public Transport Platforms and Vehicles: this shortcourse is offered to professionals and technicians. The objective is to provideattendees with theoretical and practical knowledge regarding methods andmodels to manage passengers, how to identify the effect of design on traveltimes, flow and behaviour of passengers in public transport environments. Thiscourse is offered in a closed format for companies and public transportoperators (see more in Spanish).
  • Study Challenge Transport: this is a workshop offered to engineering studentswho, through a creative learning and teaching process, test their transportknowledge in solving real problems (see more in Spanish).
  • Workshop on Pedestrian Modelling and Accessibility in Transportation andPublic Space: as a great opportunity to analyse the needs of the transportationindustry, discuss and share some results of experiments carried out on a realscale, the GET-UANDES organizes workshops on topics of pedestrian modellingand accessibility in collaboration with universities such as University CollegeLondon (see more in Spanish).
