Juan José Donoso is Executive Director of The Nature Conservancy (TNC) Chile. He holds a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Economics from the Catholic University of Chile with a major in Public Policy. Juan José has a distinguished career in environmental, sustainability and climate change issues in public and private sector organizations and academia, including the direction of the Natural Resources and Biodiversity Division of the Ministry of Environment. An amateur ornithologist, Juan José is the author of two books on birds: "Geografía de pájaros, Chile Central" (CEP, 2015) and "Vuelo de pájaros americanos" (Amanuta, 2018)."

Pam Emerson holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and Genetics and a Master of Education from Cornell University. She also holds a Masters in Landscape Architecture and Ecological Design from the University of Washington. Her research has focused on the study of nature and its relationship to humans.
She is currently part of the City of Seattle's Green Infrastructure Program and Planning System, where she is working on the development of a 50-year strategic plan for Seattle's water resilient future. Previously, she was focused on developing Washington State's first Community Public-Private Partnership to facilitate stormwater management and riparian restoration on private lands through the Rain City Partnerships Pilot Program. She also worked on the City of Seattle's first Climate Action Plan.
Regionally, at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), where she led programs to increase ecological literacy, protect young children from environmental threats to developmental health. From 1995 to 1998, Pam served as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in Puerto Saavedra, Region IX, Chile, where she worked with local and regional educators to co-develop an environmental education pedagogy aligned with Chile's national curriculum.

Geographer, Master in Environmental Management and Planning from the University of Chile and PhD from the University of Leipzig. He is an academic in the Department of Geography at the University of Chile, and his work involves research, consulting and teaching in the field of environmental planning, environmental justice, and urban and landscape ecology. Among other projects, he has led the development of the Stgo+ Green Infrastructure Plan and the Ecological Planning of the Metropolitan Region for the Ministry of Environment. In addition, he has been part of the advisory mites for the development of the National Policy of Urban Parks and the National Strategy of Green Cities.
Alexis' presentation is titled: Ecological territorial planning from neighborhoods to ecoregions.
Pablo is a Forestry Engineer from Universidad Austral de Chile, PhD in Conservation Biology from the State University of New York. More than two decades of experience implementing science-based conservation strategies and programs at Forestal Arauco. We manage 300,000 hectares of conservation in Central Chile, highlighting 60,000 hectares of high value areas and 25,000 hectares of ecological restoration.

The CADK performs kinesiological care for patients in the areas of adult and child neurokinesiology, musculoskeletal and geriatrics, either for active, inactive and sedentary people, giving a comprehensive approach in conjunction with medical evaluations and controls in the area of traumatology and family medicine, allowing the development of clinical and cross-cutting skills for undergraduate students of Kinesiology and Medicine, under the supervision of clinical teachers.
The Centro de Salud de San Bernardo (CESA) offers medical, dental, psychological, legal clinic and outpatient family mediation services that combines practical training and community service. Here, students from different health areas provide teaching and health care under the supervision of professionals. Every year, more than 100,000 services are provided, contributing to the wellbeing of the inhabitants of San Bernardo and its surroundings. Its purpose is to offer excellent ambulatory care and to train people committed to social needs, promoting service, trust and a spirit of collaboration.

The project Comprehensive Oral Family Health (S.O.F.I.) was born in 2010 as a student initiative of the School of Dentistry aimed at providing dental care to people in vulnerable situations. Through mobile operations, it offers prevention, diagnosis and basic treatment to the Chilean and immigrant population, especially in the Metropolitan Region. In 2024 it attended more than 320 patients in more than 10 communesand more than 190 were referred to the San Bernardo Health Center (CESA). S.O.F.I. not only improves the oral health of the families served, but also trains empathetic and socially committed professionals.

The Institute of Family Sciences (ICF) is an academic unit of the Universidad de los Andes destined to contribute with a multidisciplinary view, professional rigor and research, new formulas that strengthen and vivify the family, through the formation of professionals with Postgraduate courses and Continuing Education.
It seeks to train professionals who are experts in working with families, with UANDES' own seal: training of excellence, respect for the family with which they work and a vision and commitment to the development of the whole person, with the family as the essential protagonist.

The program was developed by ESE Business School, together with the Nocedal Foundation, in 2016.
This is a program to promote micro-entrepreneurship, aimed at entrepreneurs who already have an initiative in operation and want to make it grow. At the beginning, the program was aimed at entrepreneurs in the municipalities of La Pintana, Puente Alto, Curacaví and Maipo.
This Diploma in Business Management for Microentrepreneurs aims to provide the necessary tools for participants (microentrepreneurs) to improve their knowledge and management skills in the different areas and functions of the company. For this purpose, classes and tutorials are given on different topics, such as accounting, finance, marketing and sales management, among others.
Since 2022, this program also has the support of the Alumni Council, who, together with its social area, wanted to join this initiative by providing personalized tutoring to the participants. The school's graduates were invited to join the tutoring program, helping the program participants to apply the knowledge acquired in the classes to their projects.

The Uandes Arts Museuminaugurated in 2010, was born from the philanthropic initiative of María Loreto Marín Estévez, who donated part of her private collection to the Universidad de los Andes, so that it could be researched, restored, conserved and exhibited to the public.

A high concentration of pollutants in indoor air, such as in homes and schools, can affect productivity and represent a significant social cost. Pollutants such as particulate matter, volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) enter from outside and are also generated inside indoor spaces, for example, due to heating and engines. These substances can irritate the respiratory tract and some are recognized carcinogens. Episodes of severe air pollution, such as forest fires in summer or the use of heating in winter, have increased the demand for air purifiers in Chile and around the world. Keeping the air clean in our enclosed spaces is crucial for our health and well-being.
Since 2015, the Green Technology Research Group (G-Tech) of the Universidad de los Andes, has researched indoor air purification. He has focused on developing and testing systems that combine physicochemical and biological methods to treat indoor air. In particular, he has worked on eliminating mixtures of VOCs and PAHs from the combustion of wood, fossil fuels and other sources in homes, businesses and public places.
In 2018, he was awarded the Ramón Salas Edwards Prize from the Institute of Engineers of Chile, for his contribution to research and Innovation in Engineering.

This project seeks to train political and social leaders, as well as prestigious academics, who can actively intervene in public discussion. TRIP is the institutional social project that seeks to encourage students and professors to put their profession in the service of vulnerable communities. The Uandes Center for Aging (CEUandes) is an interdisciplinary promotion unit created by the Faculty of Medicine to articulate, plan and disseminate projects and activities related to the aging of the Chilean population in its different dimensions: biomedical, social, economic and human. Its mission is to generate synergies among the faculties and academic units of the University, promoting research, teaching, innovation and linkage with the environment around the welfare and quality of life of the elderly.
The Center operates with a Multidisciplinary Board of Directors which brings together representatives from different academic units -including Occupational Therapy, Epidemiology, Bioethics and SIGNOS-, and has an General Coordination responsible for implementing the annual action plan. This project comprehensively investigates how adverse childhood experiences shape mental health in adulthood, with a special focus on the emergence and persistence of anxious and depressive symptoms. Through the study of adults, the team analyzes how these early experiences influence processes such as fear learning, sensitivity to threatening stimuli and the tendency to adopt avoidance behaviors. Cognitive, behavioral and physiological measures are used to observe more precisely how fear is acquired, maintained or extinguished, building a more complete profile of emotional functioning in people with a history of early adversity.
The ultimate goal is to move toward more accurate clinical assessments and psychological treatments better tailored to the actual needs of each patient. By understanding how these early experiences affect emotional response mechanisms in adulthood, the research aims to contribute to the development of evidence-based interventions that prevent misdiagnosis and reduce the application of ineffective therapies. In this way, the project provides key knowledge to improve clinical practice and promote therapeutic strategies that consider the long-term impact of childhood experiences on psychological well-being.

This project, developed by researchers from the Faculty of Nursing and Obstetrics, aims to adapt and implement a model of warmth to ensure that all care provided by Teleton health personnel meets the highest human and professional standards. The initiative arises from the need to preserve the institutional seal in a context of constant staff turnover, ensuring that the culture of closeness, respect and support that characterizes Teleton is maintained across the board in all its centers. To this end, the team is working on the cultural adaptation of the Warmth Scale, an internationally validated tool, but which needs to be adjusted to the Foundation's own reality, practices and values.
This work is expected to strengthen and enhance the care experience, generating evidence to evaluate the quality of the link between professionals and patients, and promote practices consistent with the spirit of the institution. The research considers a pilot project in the Teleton Institutes, developed in collaboration with internal teams, which will identify opportunities for improvement and ensure that the model is effectively integrated into clinical processes. Ultimately, the project seeks to contribute positively to patient recovery, recognizing that warm, respectful and humane treatment is a fundamental component in rehabilitation and in the construction of meaningful care experiences for children, young people and their families.

Project that involves oncology patients and their families in the participatory construction of knowledge to develop a line of research that addresses oral complications that may arise during or after oncology therapy (such as mucositis, xerostomia or other oral dysfunctions).
The method contemplates a knowledge co-creation approach: patients and their families contribute their experiences, perceptions and needs, which allows researchers to design interventions, guidelines or tools more focused on the patient's reality, improving the clinical and psychosocial relevance of the results.

Domus AI is a platform developed by the Center for Territorial Studies (CET) UANDES and the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences of the Universidad de los Andes, which uses advanced artificial intelligence models to simplify and strengthen the building permit review process at the Municipal Works Directorates (DOM). The tool automates the reading and verification of forms, plans and urban planning regulations, accurately identifying the applicable requirements and evaluating their compliance. This reduces the manual burden on municipal teams, reduces frequent errors or omissions and moves towards more uniform, objective and traceable processes within the different communal realities.
Its purpose is to streamline and make processing more accurate, shortening response times and reducing administrative costs, while increasing the legal certainty of procedures. Domus AI contributes to modernize the operation of the DOM by standardizing the regulatory review and providing greater transparency to technical decisions, benefiting both municipalities and professionals and developers who depend on clear and efficient processes. In a context of growing housing demand and regulatory complexity, the platform is positioned as a tool with high impact potential, capable of improving public management and contributing to better planned and more accessible cities.

The RADAR (Red para la Atención y Derivación de Adolescentes en Riesgo) program is an initiative with a strong social-scientific component, created for the prevention of adolescent suicide.
