What is GET-UANDES?

GET-UANDES is the Transportation Studies Group of the Universidad de los Andes, composed of academics from the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences, oriented to the analysis of transport problems to propose innovative solutions based on science.

We conduct research in the following areas of Transportation Engineering:

  • Traffic theory
  • Traffic engineering
  • Public transport
  • Pedestrian and cyclist behaviour
  • Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS)

Who we work with?

Academics of the Universidad de los Andes and other universities collaborate in research, development and innovation with the GET-UANDES. We work with higher education institutions such as:

  • Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú, Perú.
  • Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, España.
  • University College London, Reino Unido.
  • Institute of Advanced Simulation, Alemania.

In 2015 we signed the international academic and research collaboration agreement between the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences of the University of the Andes and University College London (UCL)(see more)

We have also collaborated in applied research with Tren Central, Metro de Santiago, Directorio de Transporte Público Metropolitano and other related transport operating companies in Chile.
